Saint shares 'dad' skills

07 Sep, 2009 11:02 AM
FORMER St Kilda champion and dual Brownlow medallist Robert Harvey was guest speaker at a special Father's Day assembly at the Berwick campus of Haileybury College last Friday.

Harvey, who is an assistant coach at Carlton, spoke to year 5 and 8 students and their fathers about how he juggled a brilliant AFL career with being a father to his three children, son Connor and daughters Remi and Alysaa.

He played a club record 383 games, won the Brownlow Medal in 1997 and 1998, won the Saints' best-and-fairest award four times, and was named an All Australian eight times.

He retired after the 2008 preliminary final against Hawthorn after more than 21 seasons and has since been appointed development and fitness coach at Carlton.
