Eagles on high

07 Sep, 2009 09:52 AM
THE Cranbourne Eagles are flying high after swooping up three premiership cups for the 2009 season.

The haul has led to the Cranbourne Junior Football Club completing one of its most successful years in the Dandenong & Districts Junior Football League.

Eight Eagles sides out of a possible 14 reached the grand finals last Sunday week with successful sides being the under 10 and under 12 red divisions and the under 16s.

Under 10s coach Matt Hodge said he was extremely proud of his young charges, who led the league ladder all year, dropping only one game against their eventual grand final opponent, Hampton Park.

Casey councillor Kevin Bradford congratulated club president Alan Courtenay and the rest of the committee for creating a great family atmosphere "which encourages all teams to play for the jumper but have fun doing it".
