The No.12 won the club's best and fairest award for his defence skills.

"Playing centre half-back is fast, but defensive skills are needed to stop your man," he says.

Goldsack started playing in the under-15s for Pakenham at the age of 13 and played U17s for two years before joining the seniors.

He played in Frankston's VFL team for two years in 2004 and 05 and returned to Pakenham in 2006.

"When I first started playing, Pakenham was in the West Gippsland Football League. When we switched to the Mornington Peninsula Football League, we joined a club with better standing. Players had stronger skills and stronger games."

The Pakenham accountant says his job is an ideal fit to play football.

He says the best aspect about football is hanging out with the mates for a social a couple of nights a week.

"I enjoy the contest of the game."

To keep his stamina, he trains twice a week outside the season. "During the season we are training a lot more."

Goldsack won best-and-fairest twice in his career and came second last year.

He said Pakenham stood a chance to win the grand final in a couple of weeks.

"If we get through the elimination and the semi-finals, we'll play at home. I'm looking forward to it.

"We could win all the matches. I know it's a cliche but it will depend on how we perform on the day. If everyone does their bit we should be right."
