Casey Council role defended

09 Mar, 2010 09:56 AM
A CASEY councillor last week rejected a local MP's criticisms over the council's handling of a proposed development that may force Casey Gardens caravan park residents to relocate.

"That's absolutely untrue," Cr Sam Aziz said when responding to a speech by Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley in which she stated residents were concerned the council and developer were not being "upfront" with them.

Cr Aziz said he had held discussions "to ensure all residents would be transitioned well and no one disadvantaged".

Casey's planning committee is expected to make a decision on March 23.
